Build a job-search system, not just a resume pile

A structured search can include presenting yourself well, practicing skills and asking people for help. Sending more applications is not the whole method.

AN ACTION TO CONSIDER

Combine job-search skills, clear goals and requests for support.

In controlled studies, job-search programs had employment odds 2.67 times those of comparison groups.

Why consider it?

The meta-analysis pooled experimental and quasi-experimental programs, commonly delivered as structured group courses in Western settings. The odds ratio is not a probability multiplier or a measured effect of asking for a referral alone. Programs combining skills and motivation performed best; self-directed actions do not replicate the entire intervention.

Read the sources
